American Translation Partners created the Language Locator for our visitors that want to find out what language is spoken and written in any specific country around the world. Above all, we hope you find the Language Locator search tool useful. But certainly, feel free to make suggestions on how to improve this search tool. And most importantly, let us know what to update for content within a country. For example, if you have new insights about the spoken languages, written languages, population, flags we have listed.  That’s very useful information we want to know and share with our customers. Finally, we thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Future plans

In the future, we plan to expand the development of the Language Locator to include voice recognition. And create a matrix to be able to verify the spoken or written language of an individual. This part of the search tool will enable first responders and other Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) to have a way to quickly ascertain the Limited English Proficient (LEP) speakers language.

Another idea we have is to incorporate information about languages that are endangered. As well as adding those historical languages no longer in use. This may not sound as helpful but we are sure it will prove to be a resourceful feature for those researching languages.

Lastly, we will attempt to make alternate map versions of endonyms. An endonym is a name for a place, site or location in the language of the people who live there. This will help Limited English Proficient speakers find their home and in turn help the English speakers trying to communicate with them.
